Located in the heart of Oakland's Chinatown area, Yuk Yau Children's Center was designed to reflect the architectural heritage of the surrounding Chinese community. The Center serves up to 110 children whose ages range from kindergarten through the sixth grade. The building accommodates a wide range of activities including quiet reading areas, built-in water play facilities, open spaces for gatherings of large groups, rest areas, and bathrooms scaled to children. The facility includes a full service commercial kitchen.
