murakami/Nelson designed the Niello Company’s Porsche dealership in Rocklin, California.  This 26,700 sq. ft. facility uses clean lines and modern materials to draw attention from the road just as the Porsche automobile does. The curved exterior showroom wall is 28-feet tall consisting of aluminum composite panels and a contrasting band of seamless, clear glazing. The Vehicle Gallery at the showroom entrance provides a dynamic, highly illuminated showcase for the vehicles by the use of a low ceiling with dramatic lighting and colorful graphics. Beyond the Vehicle Gallery is a two-story, full-height space where the customer contact areas are located. Each of these areas complements the building exterior with the use of metal and glass fixtures and furniture. At the center of the showroom is a circular room for the Material Selection Area. This unique room shape is also carried through to the second floor administrative spaces, with continuous windows that provide an exciting view of the showroom below.  From exterior and interior, to reception and sales consultation, to service and parts, the design of this facility enhances the retail experience for Porsche customers
