NIELLO BMW
Elk Grove, CA

The design concept for the Niello Company’s BMW facility in Elk Grove, California evolved from the authentic innovation of the legendary BMW brand. The architecture of this facility reflects the premium quality and elegance of the BMW vehicle design. With a total building area of 53,900 sq. ft., the curved exterior façade of the showroom is composed of an aluminum curtain wall system with high performance, energy efficient glazing for maximum visibility and a lightness to the building. The remaining exterior walls are clad with white, aluminum composite paneling. A uniquely shaped, tower element provides a dramatic entrance to the facility, and creates the same effect as a full-height interior space. On the showroom side of the entrance, the vehicles are displayed along a sweeping curve created by the exterior wall. The sales offices and second floor administrative spaces are also arranged along this same curve, with windows overlooking the showroom. With the service write-up area on the opposite side of the entrance, customers are naturally drawn to the center of the facility, which includes the Lifestyle Boutique, retail parts, and a customer lounge that focuses on a large viewing window into the spaciousservice garage. The parts storage area is accessed from the first and second floors, and the service shop contains 28 productive work stalls, four wash bays, 4 programming bays, an emissions bay, and an alignment bay. The exterior and interior design speaks to the open positive retail environment while providing interest with the architecture.
