Niello Mini When the Mini was first released more than forty years ago, it became one of the most recognizable cars on the road and an icon for a generation. Upon the release of the newly redesigned Mini for the Spring of 2002, murakami/Nelson designed the Niello Company’s Mini dealership in Sacramento, California. The 2,800 sq. ft. showroom was developed to capture the excitement and unique character of the Mini. The bold colors and forms of the interior elements against the neutral background of the floors, walls, and ceilings, create a visually appealing environment for not only the vehicle displays, but also the sales area, bar lounge, and lifestyle products display. The Niello Mini dealership has an exterior skin of aluminum composite panels that reflects the contemporary look of the Niello BMW dealership on the opposite end of the site. The exterior panels also create a background for the free-standing sign structure which carries the Mini logo and dealer name, visible from the street by day and night.
