Designed in conjunction with our award-winning Harbor Bay Landing Shopping Center, murakami/Nelson provided architectural and interior design services, as well as furnishings specifications for this combination library and community center complex. One challenge of the project was combining the warmth of a residential reading room with the rugged durability of a recreational facility. Flexibility was critical to the design of the library. We designed the building to incorporate a future mezzanine level with access via a stairwell in what is presently a storage room.
